Veteran prolific Akan presenter, Sekyere Poporo Boateng is reported dead.

The cause of his death is not yet established but reports say the former Happy FM General Manager died after battling ill-health.

In 2003, Wofa Sekyere Poporo Boateng made the headlines following his controversial exit from Peace FM to Happy FM.

On Friday, July 18, 2003, when asked why he was leaving the then Achimota-based radio station, he told The Independent newspaper that though he was taking a risk, he aimed at ‘changing the face of radio’.

“It is better to take risks than not to take risks. My switching to Happy FM is to afford me the chance to change the face of radio,” the legend said at the time.

The news of his death has shaken the media fraternity as many industry players have taken to social media to wish him well as he journeys home to meet his maker.
