The Former Ashanti Regional Minister under the erstwhile John Dramani Mahama’s administration Joseph Yammin has disclosed that he prayed to God to heal the Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin Central Constituency Kennedy Agyapong because his Ghc95million defamation suit against the legislator is still pending.
Joseph Yammin filed a defamation suit against the lawmaker and KenCity Media Limited for publishing defamatory statements which he says portray him as a criminal.
According to Mr Yammin, the said publication exposed him to “public ridicule, hatred and contempt in the eyes of the right-thinking citizens of Ghana and numerous expatriates and diplomats in Ghana.”
Speaking in an interview with Ambassador TV on YouTube hosted by Osei Kwadwo, Joseph Yammin explained that “I was sad when I heard that Hon Kennedy Agyapong was not feeling well. Though I don’t wish bad for him he should get well because my defamation suit against him is still pending”.
According to Joseph Yammin, “Kennedy Agyapong is not my friend and I’m also not his friend but we are not enemies. I can call Kennedy Agyapong and have a conversation with him but it will never stop my defamation suit against him in court”.
“Sometimes Kennedy Agyapong goes overboard when he is making an important issue but I sometimes support some of his contribution towards national issues,” Yammin said.
“My Ghc95 million defamation suit against Kennedy Agyapong is very important to me because I want to prove to the whole world that he lied about me and I will never let him go scot-free”
Joseph Yammin added that “I wish Hon Kennedy Agyapong speedy recovery and long life. Since all of us can fall sick anytime, we shouldn’t wish bad for others”.
“The only thing I can do for Kennedy Agyapong is to pray for him because I don’t have money to support him pay his hospital bills since he said on live television that he can pay my Ghc95 million defamation suit even if he is visiting the toilet”.
“I will advise Kennedy Agyapong to humble himself because his money is making him too arrogant which is bad for him. There are a lot of people in Ghana who have money more than him but they humble themselves” he counseled.
