541Kg of cocaine is reported missing by the Serious Organised Crime office of South Africa.
A statement released by the authorities reveals the cocaine was likely stolen from the Hawks’ Serious Organised Crime offices in Port Shepstone between Friday at 16:00 and Monday at 07:00,.
According to the Spokesperson of the Hawks, Brigadier Nomthandazo Mbambo, the missing cocaine is 541 kg and worth R200 million equivalent to $13 million.
“A case of business burglary has been registered for further investigation, following a break-in at the Hawks’ Serious Organised Crime offices in Port Shepstone between Friday at 16:00 and Monday at 07:00,” – he said

Brigadier Nomthandazo Mbambo added that the perpetrators entered the building by forcing the windows open
“One of the safes in the office, which was used to store exhibits, was tampered with”. – Mbambo added
The Deputy of the Hawks, Lieutenant General Tebello Constance Mosikili have been appointed to conduct an inquiry into the theft.
