The Overall Best Graduating Student of College of Humanities and Legal Studies of University of Cape Coast (UCC), Ms. Linda Appiah has encouraged all female students to hold in high esteem their womanhood as they suffer the most as preys of sexual harassment.
“There are people willing to guide you in your academic studies and receive nothing in return and I will urge you to search well for Senior excellent records and follow them” she advised.
Giving her valedictory speech at the 54th congregation at the UCC, Ms. Appiah again charged female students to do their best to make the most efficient use of their time and learning resources.
“There are very good lecturers in institutions especially UCC who can assist you so utilize the services of your academic counsellors and open up on relevant issues which affect your academic progress” she lamented.
Ms. Appiah advised her colleagues who will love to combine student leadership or entrepreneurship with the school, to be honest in all their dealings as student leaders.
“Cut no corners in your work and when you succeed no one will point fingers of corruption at you” she disclosed.
Ms. Appiah who had CGPA of 3.908 shared a few things she did to help her achieve her academic goal of excellence.
According to her, she made a conscious effort to receive mentoring from senior students who were in her field of study.
“I admonish that we put on the shield of faithfulness, integrity and professional competence as we work. As we have already begun our national service, let us serve with the mindset of a learner so that through this moment of service, we will contribute and receive” Ms. Appiah added.
