Ghana doesn’t need a leader with ‘Bofrot balls” who can’t function – Vim Lady

Award-winning Broadcast Journalist Afia Pokuaa who is known popularly as Vim Lady has said what Ghana needs now is a leader with ‘big balls’ to ensure that systems function effectively.

According to her, there is a need for leadership that will transform the fortunes of the country for the better because what is currently happening in the country is nothing one can write home about.

Afia Pokuaa believes a leader who can condemn their own and ensure that their appointees are made accountable for their actions is the individual the country needs at the moment.

“We need a bold leader, a bold leader with the balls. A bold leader with balls and not ‘bofrot’ in between his legs. Even if she is a woman, we need a woman with balls. The balls to call a space a space such that if people close to her contravenes the law, she can order for their arrest,” she said.

She noted that Ghana has an Independent Special Prosecutor (OSP) who is supposed to spearhead the fight against corruption but has been made handicapped because resources needed for the fight have not been provided.

“It shouldn’t be like setting up an Independent Special Prosecutor who has no power because he does not even have a Board in place, he does not have an official car, so is that how to fight corruption. This was what Martin Amidu was complaining about from Day 1.”
