Ghana police arrest top drug Lord while transporting the substances.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Juliana Obeng, Head of Public Affairs Unit, Greater Accra Regional Police Command, Haruna Iddrisu, a 36-year-old painter and gardener, has been arrested for unlawful possession of 228 parcels of dried leaves suspected to be Indian Hemp.

 

On Tuesday, November 23, 2021, the Regional Police learned that a drug-trafficking syndicate on the Police wanted list had transported some substances suspected to be Indian hemp to Accra and hidden them at a location.

She stated that their movements were immediately monitored, and suspect Haruna Iddrisu was identified as the main distributor.

 

DSP Obeng stated that police pursued the suspect and arrested him at his hideout in Gbetsile, near Ashaiman, along with the 228 slabs of dried leaves, all of which were suspected to be Indian Hemp.

Meanwhile,NDC Secretary seriously injured after being beaten at constituency meeting at Tanoso, a suburb of Techiman, on Tuesday, November 23, 2021.

Suleman Twih Brempong, Secretary of the Techiman South National Democratic Congress (NDC), was allegedly attacked by a group of men during a constituency executives meeting.

According to reports, the attack may be linked to an incident within the Techiman South NDC during the 2020 elections.

The thugs were sent by the Techiman South NDC Chairman, Nuhu Saliu Faawa, to attack the Constituency Secretary, according to Hajj Tanko, the Techiman South NDC Constituency Communications Officer who was present at the scene.

Suleman was rushed to the Ahhmadya Muslim Hospital in Techiman for medical treatment following the attack.

The unfortunate incident was immediately reported to police to take over while Suleman was recovering from the severe in the hospital.
