In my prime women proposed love to me, they wanted to have me – Maame Dokono reveals

Award-wining veteran Actress Maame Dkono has said that in her prime, even women proposed love to her.

According to her, in order to prevent her from soiling herself, she decided to date her colleague David Dontoh.

She said his presence in her life helped her to stay away from the advances of men and women who could not control themselves when they saw her.

“I dated David Dontoh for ten years but we never got married. His presence helped me a lot especially when we went on tours and people wanted to propose to me they thought we were married. You could be in your hotel room and some women will be downstairs waiting to propose love to you,” she said on Accra-based Utv.

Maame Dokono indicated that she could have agreed to get married to David Dontoh but she had four children from her previous marriage already and didn’t want to burden a young man who was starting out life so she broke up with him so he finds himself a young lady to get married to.

“I was with David Dontoh for ten years and could have decided to get married to him but I thought as a young man starting out with life, I wouldn’t want to burden him because I had four children already so we broke up and from there, I had a man who I was with till he died a year and some months ago,” she said.

In Ghana currently, Parliament is deliberating on a bill that has been tagged by many as Anti LGBTQI+ bill that will criminalize homosexuality in the country.

The bill has received the strongest opposition especially from intellectuals who are fighting for the human rights of the people involved in the act but the Christian, Islam, and Traditional community in the country say they support the bill and have asked for it to be passed into law.
