The Omanhene of Akyem Dome, Osaberimah Amoako Affum ii has advised Municipal and District Chief executives ( MDCEs) in the Eastern region not to ignore chiefs in their areas in the discharge of their duties.
He has therefore called on MDCEs to collaborate effectively with the chiefs in undertaking development projects across the region.
According to him, such a move will help discard the stiff opposition some MDCEs faced from some chiefs in some areas.
He added that before the institution of modern government system, the traditional authority was held in high esteem and chiefs wielded a lot of powers and commanded respect, adding that chiefs brought massive development in their various electoral areas.
Barima Amoako Affum ii gave the advice at Akyem Dome when some delegates from the Fanteakwa South District paid a courtesy call on him and his elders at his palace.
