The Member of Parliament (MP) for the Manhyia South Constituency in Ashanti Region, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh has congratulated all farmers in the area on the occasion of celebrating the 37th National Farmers Day.
In his message, he said, “Our gallant and ever hardworking farmers deceive to be mentioned all discourses for feeding the constituency and beyond”.
According to him, “As the MP, I will continue to work hard and liaise with the appropriate agencies to ensure that farming is taken to the next level”.
In a message, Dr. Prempeh said: “Although there are lots of problems confronting farmers, the current government is working assiduously to address the problems.”
Dr. Prempeh noted that, farmers within Manhyia South and other places must be commended for being resilient in their quest to feed the nation.
The Manhyia South MP, who is also the Minister of Energy, charged the youth not to see farming as a preoccupation of the aged, but go into it to help in checking the unemployment menace.
“I wish our farmers well and to want to assure them that I will always stand by them,” he said.
This year’s Farmer’s Day Celebration is themed ‘Planting For Food And Jobs-Consolidating Food Systems In Ghana.’
