NPP gov’t has given 4,000 guns to its vigilante groups – Asiedu Nketia alleges

General Secretary for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Johnson Asiedu Nketia is alleging that the government of Ghana has taken more than 4000 weapons from the country’s armories for vigilante groups of the New Patriotic Party(NPP).

According to him, the move by the government is to distribute the arms to its vigilante groups in order for them to cause mayhem on the day of the election.

Asiedu Nketiah who was speaking on Accra-based Adom TV monitored by MyNewsGh.com said he has evidence backing his claims and will be ready to defend it anywhere he’s called upon.

He said “We are reliably informed and aware that the government has taken over 4000 weapons from the country’s armouries from the weapons we have bought for soldiers to use in protecting us. The government is distributing it to its vigilante groups so that they will use it to cause confusion during the December election”.

To him, if the elections a free and devoid of the intimidation and foul play, the governing New Patriotic Party will struggle to get even 44% of the votes that will be cast on the day of the election.
