Residents of Amoaman in the Atwima Nwabiagya North Constituency of the Ashanti Region are on the heels of the Member of Parliament(MP) Benito Owusu Bio to fulfill his promise of fixing the roads.
According to the residents, the MP promised to fix the road from Akyease to Amoaman four years ago but has failed to honor his promise without any explanation of what may have been the mishap.
“For years ago he promised to fix the road for us but since then nothing has been done, we don’t want to believe it was just a mouth promise, we are asking him to come and fix the road as he promised,” some of the residences said.
The chief of Amoaman Nana Agyenim Boateng I confirmed the claims as he met his people in the last Akwasidae in 2021.
“When this district was set up it was farmers’ day and MP said Akyease to Amoaman road has been awarded to contractors, and he added that the contractors have started, but for four years now nothing has been done about the road,” Nana Agyenim Boateng I recalled.
“For better development, you need to have good roads, so I begging the government to continue the road as they promised…when a sick person is referred to a bigger hospital the road has always been a hindrance so we are begging them to continue for us,” Nana pleaded.
DCE for Atwima Nwabiagya North Hon Rebecca Yeboah assured the people that all the roads in the electoral area have been awarded to contractors who will soon move to the site.
“All the roads in Akyease electoral area have been awarded, we should thank God that the government has awarded our roads, the contractors will be on the road soon and they have promised to finish by March next year,” she assured.
