You Haven’t Been Sacked From TV3 Because The Economy Is Booming – NPP Panelist Tells Johnny Hughes

Ken Ofori Atta, the Minister for Finance is expected later today, Wednesday, November 17, 2021 to present the 2022 budget to Ghanaians. Citizens have groaned under huge taxes and many are anticipating to hear about certain reliefs in the yet to be read budget. Whereas party communicators of the ruling party speak about changes that they see coming, many on the opposite divide have tagged the budget to be nothing new.

On TV3’s New Day, Johnny quizzed Dennis Miracles Aboagye, former MCE for Akuapem North about his expectations for the new budget. Dennis was of the view that taxes will be reduced and Ghanaians will have the chance to work and be happy again. According to him the economy is growing and government is doing everything possible to make life favorable. Johnny however interrupted and wondered why Ghanaians are complaining then if the economy is doing well. Johnny raised questions about food prices, fuel costs and power outages.

This question rather infuriated Dennis who refused to answer the question. Dennis rather went about explaining what the government had done and how Johnny himself has benefited from the good economy. According to Dennis, Covid-19 has caused many to be displaced TV3 and yet Johnny hasn’t been sacked. He added that the mere fact that Johnny was still with TV3 was evidence of a thriving economy. He wondered what TV3 would have been if indeed there was power crises.
