Weapons distribution allegation: Said Sinare admits ownership of pump action gun but denies AK 47

The National Vice Chairman of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Alhaji Said Sinare has admitted ownership of one of the guns at the centre of a weapons distribution allegation against him.

He has however told the police that the gun – a pump action gun – was missing and he has already reported the case at the Cantonments Police Station in Accra.

With respect to a second gun, an AK 47, he has told the police he has no knowledge about that gun and that it does not belong to him.

Mr Abraham Amaliba, one of the lawyers of Alhaji Said Sinare and a Director of Legal Affairs of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) disclosed this to  journalists at the premises of the Accra Regional Police Command where Alhaji Sinare had been invited to answer questions in relation to the guns on Thursday morning.
