Don’t deal with third parties in seeking for utility services – PURC urges clients

The Bono, Bono East and Ahafo regional secretariat of the Public Utilities and Regulatory Commission (PURC) is urging the citizenry to desist from falling on third parties (connection men) when seeking for electricity/water supply or meters because such activities are illegal and makes their work difficult.

Speaking in an interview with the media in Techiman on Friday 12th March 2021, Madam Julia Antwi the Regional Public Relations Officer advised clients to always report to the VRA/NEDCo or Ghana Water Company when in need of electricity or water services in order not to end up being defrauded or over charged by these unscrupulous agents all in the name of aiding them get easy access to utility services.

For his part, Mr. Isaac Osei Agyemang Complaints Officer at the regional PURC office advised the utility service providers to always engage or educate the citizenry to dispel misconceptions about their operations and also urged clients to report to their outfit any challenges they face when seeking for water or electricity services.
