Ghana deploys 200 soldiers to fight illegal mining

The Government of Ghana has deployed some 200 soldiers to fight the menace of illegal mining popularly known as Galamsey.

A statement issued by Ghana’s Information Minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, announced the deployment.

The statement indicated that the soldiers were deployed on the River Pra in the Central and Western Regions.
