Killing of 11-yr-Old Boy at Kasoa Purely Demonic Act – Presby Moderator

The Moderator of Presbyterian Church of Ghana Rt. Rev. Prof Joseph Obiri Yeboah Mante has described it as a demonic act killing an 11-year old by two teenagers for money rituals at Kasoa.

11-year-old Ishmael Abdallah was murdered by two teenagers, Felix Nyarko, 16, and Nicholas Kini, 18, who are in court.

The sad incident happened at Kasoa Lamptey Mills in the Awutu Senya East Municipality in the Central Region on April 3, 2021.

The suspects, giving the rationale behind their actions, told the police a fetish priest asked them to bring human body parts for money rituals.

Speaking on the matter for the first time at the 48th Presbytery Session at Ramseyer Centre in Abetifi in the Eastern Region, the moderator described the act as purely demonic and urged the media that instead of broadcasting the agents’ preaching on prosperity, which hypes “fetish priest” and syncretistic preaching, the agents should make conscious effort to always touch on Christ-centered message.

The 48th Presbytery Session at Ramseyer Centre, Abetifi was on the theme “Let Christ Be Formed in You: Equipping the Saints for Ministry in Christ”.

The moderator applauded the Chairperson for donating motor bicycles to facilitate evangelism, and some other District Ministers- Mpraeso for growing the District by 19% and Tease for beginning the construction of three (3) Pavilions.

He urged them to continue putting in more efforts even amid Covid 19 Pandemic.

The moderator made a Cheque donation of Forty Thousand Ghana Cedis (Ghs 40,000.00), on behalf of the General Assembly Council, for the construction of two Pavilions in the Presbytery.

Rev Enock Kofi Obuobi the Chairperson for Kwahu Presbytery delivering his maiden address said he was thankful to God and all Ministers present for their support, he further outlined some major developmental and Evangelistic projects-  Construction of 17 Pavilions and Provision of Motor Bicycles, being undertaken to help enhance the growth of the Presbytery.

On her part, Dr. Mrs. Philis Agyemang Nyarko the Principal of Abetifi College of Education (Abeticoe) outlined some challenges the College faces which need support from the Presbytery and the general public as a whole. She also emphasized the need to ensure that students who are enrolled in the College are of good grades to raise the image of the College to the level of academic excellence.

She intimated to the Session that in 2020, thirteen (13) students graduated with First Class.

The Principal outlined some ongoing development projects at the College which include 1,500 capacities Dining Hall, renovation of a Lecture Hall, Modern College Entrance, Pillar to Pillar Walling Project, etc.

Rev Enock Kofi Obuobi the Chairperson, on behalf of the Kwahu Presbytery, supported the College with an amount of GHc 6,000.00 for the ongoing Pillar to Pillar Walling projects in the College and urged all Ministers to contribute their quota in supporting the Walling Project.
