NDC targeting 40% votes in Ashanti Region – Dr Duffuor

Former Finance Minister, Dr. Kwabena Duffuor, who has proclaimed to put himself on the ballot as the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), hosts said the gathering will buckle down towards the 2024 general races to succeed somewhere around 40% of all out votes in the Ashanti Region.
As indicated by him, it was just the late President Jerry John Rawlings who accumulated 33% of complete votes in the region in 1996.

Talking on GHONE TV, Dr. Duffuor who was the former governor of the Bank of Ghana said “Ashantis like NDC, it is simply publicity that Ashantis don’t care for the NDC… Rawlings is the main NDC applicant that surveyed 33% in the Ashanti region… in 2024, We will target 40% of votes in Ashanti to stop the break the eight, it [Break the eight] won’t occur.”

Dr. Duffour additionally said whenever given the red light to turn into the NDC’s official competitor, any semblance of the Speaker of Parliament Alban Bagbin or the minority chief Haruna Iddrisu could be his running mate.
