Ashanti Regional Chairman for the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) Benard Antwi Boasiako popularly called Chairman Wontumi says he’s of the belief that the annual delegates conference of the party will mend broken relationships.
According to him, it will bring about the unity the Party yearns for to hold onto power from 2024. Chairman Wontumi was speaking in a video advertisement ahead of the party’s annual delegates conference to be held in the Ashanti Regional capital.
He said, “all I’m pleading for from the party is that after this conference there will be unity in the party so that as one voice, we will move in unison and hold on to power in 2024”. Chairman Wontumi noted that the NPP has been in and out of power before and therefore lessons have been learnt and there will not be a repeat in 2024.
“We have been in power from 2000 to 2008 and therefore lessons have been learnt. We will not want a repeat of what happened in 2008 to happen in 2024. So we call for unity because unity is what will win us the power,” he said. He used the opportunity to call on all aspirants to desist from any form of campaign at the event grounds.
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) will from December 18-20 hold its annual delegates conference at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.
The event is expected to be well attended by Ministers and other government officials to deliberate on the forward going of the political party and fashion out a strategy to keep the party in office in 2024.
